How Will YOU Protest?
Seems that all around the country, people are fed up, people are tired of feeling powerless and most importantly, people are tired of feeling ignored!
We are seeing many ideas being proposed for a protests, boycotts, strikes, etc. and though our MSM has excused Washington's disconnect as being in some sort of desensitizing "bubble", people are finding clever ways to protest. Don't know if it will work but it beats doing nothing other then complaining, right?
I ran across this the other day and have been meaning to share it with you all. The best way that I can describe whats happening, is an equivalent to going viral, offline!
This is the sort of protest that one can engage in from the comfort of one’s own home, with a glass of ice tea at one’s elbow. Of course, defacing money is a crime, so PoliticalLoudmouth would never sanction such a thing. Sugar and lemon for you?
And neither does FOK Society,
encourage the defacing of US currency that
is!
And can we get you a refill? *winks*
Keith called out to us the other day in a Special Comment to get mad and then do something! I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the proposed "Coast to Coast Labor Day Strike" and should have that posted before days end but in the mean time, here's an idea of an "easy" protest that you can do until we can get into the voting booth in 2012 and right the WRONGS of 2010!
"They" can pretend to ignore us, they can try to make people's lives as miserable as possible in hopes that we'll be so depressed, demoralized and so turned upside down just trying to survive, that we wont bother with all that "voting" business but I believe that in their bubble, they can fully hear the anger and outrage at the mess they've made of Washington and so many lives! They just hope we'll buy their act.
With well over 14 million
Americans out of work and nearly 50 million more on food stamps
(mostly working Americans, the new working poor) and the Tea
Party's message of hate and degradation resounding loud and
clear, all we can do right now is push back where ever we can,
when ever we can until, we FINALLY get them to acknowledge that
they hear us! And then do something besides playing
politics that have very real life
consequences!
We are a country that is still for the time being, self governed and if we don't like how those that WE THE PEOPLE sent to represent us, then we need to do something about it, otherwise we have no one to blame but ourselves! Until we can get into those voting booths, this is at least something!
While we work on organizing bigger and louder protests, there's no reason that we cant get our message across in these types of manners, right? So what ideas do you have that can give people an outlet for their anger?
*Any and all ideas are welcome and FOK Society will do what it can to get your message out there*

October 11th is the 10 year anniversary of our occupation of Afghanistan and an excellent point in history to bring attention to the plight of the people. I would urge everyone to look over the agenda and outline of the group, as well as the list of supporters. We are judged by the company we keep.

I think something we all should be doing is writing letters to the editors of all our local papers for insertion in their "Letters to the Editor" section, or whatever they call it.
Mrs. Wolfie and I have been doing this for years to get our points across. From electing Obama, to animal rights, we want our voice heard. It takes time, effort, and a lot of control when rebutting an idiot repub who has all his facts from FOX, but it has to be done.
We (mostly Mrs. Wolfie) also start conversations we people at the supermarket regarding the headline on the Sunday paper to let them know where we stand. Sometimes it actually turns into a nice conversation, sometimes not.
Remember, if we say nothing, THEY WIN!
ADW, thanks again for all you do. You have no idea how happy you have made all of us with this site, and I'm sorry I haven't been around lately.
One of Keith's guests last night was a Wisconsin reporter, Harris, whose first name I forgot. Harris refused to commit himself on who he thought would win nor did he even hint at which way the polls were leaning except to say they were "close."
One thing it doesn't take a clairvoyant to predict and that is, Republicans have proven themselves to be far more successful in the money and propaganda game. With the billionaire Koch brothers now smelling blood they and other Republican contributors, thanks to Citizens United v. FEC decision by the Supreme Court, are now free to pour trainloads of money into Republican candidates no matter how unqualified any of them might be.
Case in point: Romney just received a $1 million contribution from a company that was formed specifically by Edward W. Conard as a front to donate unlimited funds to candidates.
According to an article written by Michael Isikoff, NBC investigative correspondent,
"The existence of the million-dollar donation — as gleaned from campaign and corporate records obtained by NBC News — provides a vivid example of how secret campaign cash is being funneled in ever more circuitous ways into the political system."
The Wisconsin recall election will be a bellwether for what to expect in the general election in 2012.
I'm on pins and needles with this one. We need a victory today in the worst way.
It doesn't take much to win the whole enchilada. You can win by one run in baseball, one point in football, by a nose in a horse race and the same is true in politics. When Bush got into office in 2000, partly on the heels of his corrupt Florida governor brother and secretary of state, Katherine Harris, that might have been enough. But, to make their point, the U.S. Supreme Court stepped in and said in effect, "Don't you dare try to practice your right to a recount. We are ending it right here, right now." So, by a single vote, 5-4, Bush attained the White House.
Last night's Wisconsin recall election punctuates how ferociously Republicans will fight to retain power while Democrats, even when they are energized, cannot compete against powerful people like the billionaire Koch brothers. Rupert Murdoch stated several years ago that he wished to be in a position that he personally would like to elect the next president. I'm sure he is happy to see our country torn apart because almost any Republican may squeak by and take the White House in 2012.
The other sad fact, but in my opinion, true, is the failure of Barack Obama to stand up for the common people, millions of whom have lost their jobs in a crap economy due to a totally corrupt George W. Bush administration.
If we've lost hope in having a strong advocate, a real hero for the people, Democrats will have become as despondent as some in the Republican Party who are dissatisfied with their crop of candidates.
Bad as those GOP candidates are, one of them, even a Michele Bachmann, could worm their way into the White House and then it won't be just the economy we'll have to worry about. It will be the moral imperatives that allow Tea Party acolytes to remain committed to passing brutal, unconstitutional legislation that their deity-stamped laws will impose on the rest of the country.
Since no other Democratic Party candidate has emerged, most of us, myself included, can only hope that Obama starts changing the dialogue from Republican talking points and issues to the interests and needs of millions of hurting Americans. It's now or never.
